Terms.
Last updated: 6 May 2026
By using ubild, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English on purpose — please read them.
1. The service
ubild ("the service", "we", "us") is a work-management tool for trades, operated by Sympl Ltd, a UK-registered company. We provide a website at ubild.co.uk, a web app at ubild.app, and supporting infrastructure to help you capture jobs, generate quotes, and share progress with helpers and customers.
2. Your account
You need an email address to use ubild. You're responsible for keeping access to that inbox secure — we sign you in via magic link, so anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you. Don't share sign-in links.
You must be 18 or older to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use ubild to:
- Break the law (UK or otherwise).
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone.
- Capture or share content that infringes someone else's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.).
- Attempt to break the service — scraping, brute-forcing, exploiting bugs, distributing malware.
- Submit personal data of someone who hasn't consented to it being processed.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account without notice.
4. Your content
You own everything you put into ubild — your job records, your quotes, your photos, your voice transcripts. We don't claim any ownership over it.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content for the purpose of running the service for you (e.g. so we can send a quote to your customer when you ask us to).
5. Pricing and payment
We're in early access. Pricing isn't fixed. The first ten users get a founding rate locked in for life. We'll communicate clearly before any charge — you'll never be billed by surprise.
6. AI processing
ubild uses AI (currently Anthropic Claude) to turn your voice/text into structured job records, generate quotes, and similar tasks. By submitting content, you agree it can be sent to those services for processing. Anthropic does not train on API data — see their privacy policy.
AI output is a starting point, not gospel. Always review quotes and other generated content before sending them to a customer.
7. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but we don't guarantee 100%. Stuff occasionally breaks. We'll work to fix it quickly. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from downtime.
8. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@ubild.app. Your data is deleted within 30 days.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, are inactive for over 12 months, or where we're required to by law.
9. Liability
ubild is provided "as is". We exclude all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to whatever you've paid us in that period, or £100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that can't be excluded under UK law.
10. Changes
We can update these terms. If the change is material we'll email you. Continuing to use ubild after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute goes to the English courts.
12. Contact
Questions? hello@ubild.app.
Note: These terms are a working draft. We're not lawyers — please have them reviewed before public launch.
